thats some lucky shit!
A little bit of my good’ ol sketchbook. This time I tried to play around with random ink splats and then morph them into something more less abstract.
splatters splatters splatter everywhere ! <3
animals! some cartoony some realistic but every which one of them adorable fluffy and gobby bobbly boo

It’s been a while since I puked out something out here. Well there were some changes. first of all, I got into art collage. Well it is not a classic academy of fine arts, but a three and a half year program in multimedia design major. And what’s even more cool it is a special program from European Union, so the monthly tuition is really really low, so I can afford it without any problems- hoorrray for poverty!
In addition, I’m still attending my other university studying Sociology of advertisement, with a little bit of luck I’ll get my bachelor’s degree next year, and maybe after that I’ll also try to make a Master degree. Maybe not in sociology but time will show. So yeah I’m pulling two mayors at one time simultaneously, quite nice as for a lazy ass like me. Frankly I never suspected that this would happen. Nut I took the opportunity, because the European Union grant was just this year special offer only, so I had to make a decision quickly. It’s not so bad, sometimes I have to run from one classes to another but luckily both schools are located in center of my city within 10 minutes distances from each other so I make it on time for most of the time.
Funny thing is that at first I was convinced that getting into multimedia mayor will be some kind of a torture trial with hardcore exams and special qualification tests, but it turned out to be quite indulgent and they accepted everyone that had some skills in graphic designs or could draw.
so far It is alright. We study Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, we have life drawing classes, the basics. Personally I just can’t wait till fourth semester when we start class on scriptwriting and storyboard golly golly ! (I don;t know what this word mean, I’m sorry)
I even managed to offend my Photoshop teacher with this little piece meheheh
We supposed to make a landscape with scanned elements we find interesting and create a collage with it. Well let’s just say I took a more personal look on it. And failed to meet expectations of my teacher. Well fuck it, I’ll always create this kind of things, it’s just in my nature. Only sad thing is my lecturer didn’t even wanted to notice that I made it to tribute a great artist, and not to make fun of religious beliefs.
bleh
and there are some shots of our life drawing classes.

Exams! Once again end-term examinations are slowly approaching and as usually I’m not very knowledgeable with the whole material. But with a little bit of work I’ll pass it smoothly. So there is not much of a problem there.
But let us let our minds to absorb the REAL problem. cartoons! Oh why oh why I can’t pull out a couple of extra hours from my butt every day? That would be perfect. On second thought, I might as well pull out some diligence from my ass while I’m there. Too bad only thing I can pull up from my ass is not quite what I need to be a better cartoonist. Got to find my inner comic ninja and start to chop some boredom.
Other funny newZ:
-I recently started writing a longer script to my little evil project (lighting in the background). When I’ll manage to make some sketches and other pre-production buggers, I’ll show some of this here on the brain salad. Yum yum.

So maybe three or four people that read this creepy – trippy- comics of mine will know what I’m up to. Oh well, that’s life of Indy cartoonist. Working for hours, not being noticed by others. Sometimes I wish I would find those shitty super heroes stories and IN-YOUR-FACE-POP-CULTURE-REFERENCES actually funny or good. Then I would find SOME audience. Hale…. Inhale… Okay, I’m good, enough with the buzz-killing. Comics are awesome, so let’s try to do it for personal satisfaction in a first place.
-I’ve been asked to do some guest art for two really nice guys at The cutting room. Unfortunately I didn’t had time to do it because of my university and my own web-comic (which haven’t been updated properly for last few months :) [you see what I did here? I inserted a smiley face, and I suppose to put a sad face. That’s how upset I am right now! I can’t even tell the difference between real and fake world! ] ). So sadly I had to declined the offer (even though the script was very funny) :) (You see?! Again!). I recommend to check out their comic- it’s a decent piece of fine cartoon job.
-After almost one year of doing absolutely nothing, my dreadlocks gone from natty to shitty. Right now I’m sporting a “nest-of-evil-natty-hairy-tentacles” type of hairdo. Aaaaand I’m loving it! Also still a lot of people claims that I looks like Jonathan Davis from Korn (by the way, I didn’t liked their newest album).
There is a peek of how do I look like right now (it’s a piece of bigger artwork I’m working on now. I totally blew the eyes but it’s a work in progress, so It’ll come around eventually.) The dreadlocks are still much more messy in reality, but this is pretty much how I look like. Lost some weight recently!
Hugs and kisses

Glad to hear that, trying to do my best :) you keep that fine blog of yours up and running dreadlock sister (best regards from fellow dread head)
And that’s how my current work station looks like. I moved from paper and pencils to wacom Cintiq and Photoshop. And it turned out to be much better solution for cartooning. What’s even more awesome, I managed to earn money for this bad boy all by myself, making comics and designing posters. I got lucky with one huge commission, moments after graduating high school. That was my first real job as a designer, and although I had worked my ass off making all graphics and comics, I had a real blast with it.
Cintiq was my very first tablet ever (I just couldn’t cope with regular tablets- being forced to look at screen while drawing on piece of plastic in front of you just didn’t felt natural :/ ) and few first drawings I’ve made with it was just horrible. But after a few months I got quite comfortable with using this device and I have no regrets ever since.
One thing I adore about going digital is having 100% control over every step of drawing comics. No more pencil smudges all over the place, no more folded paper (no mention it environment, it’s my pleasure) and most of all, NO MORE RUBBING OUT! HA!
Combine it with our Lord and master- his majesty Photoshop and you have the perfect combo. Over this few years of digital doodling I especially grew fond of “free transform tool”. It’s my precious little princess, and I use it all the time. Being able to manipulate all the pieces of sketch, no matter how rough it is, is like dreams come true.
Don’t get me wrong, using Cintiq didn’t made me a better cartoonist, it’s just the time flow and comfort that increased. To be a better cartoonist you have to put love and effort in what’re doing.
At least in my opinion.

My old workspace back in time when I was still living with my parents. No advanced PC and no wacom tablet. Just pencils and ink.
Old school style!
Those are some old photos of my room back in my parents house. I was in high school, drawing tons of comics like a little sick psycho. SWOOSH SWOOSH page after page, pencil after pencil just loads of comic strips. It feels kind of nostalgic. Now I live in completely different city with flat mates, attend university, I even managed to score some first jobs as graphic designer. Feels good. And a little bit scary, but mostly good. I would never thought that I’ll have this kind of life. It’s hard to cope with bills, rent, finding job and relationships but hey! That’s life!
Huge amount of responsibilities and work and just a drop of fun.
But achieving your dreams is somewhat more satisfying than watching Saturday morning cartoons with your pajamas on for whole day.
Just keep on rocking
